Wednesday

Well I've gotten Sean off to school this morning. I wish him a terrific day and hope that he learns all kinds of new things today.

I took an hour or so and visited with Mom & Dad after I got Sean off to school. It had been a while since I've visited in the morning and it was really enjoyable. Mom showed me her pictures that she had had printed and Dad was getting ready to go out and get involved with something or another.

Sean had a bicycle accident this afternoon resulting in his cell phone have a serious fall. It broke at the hinge, thank goodness we have replacement insurance on the phone. I guess we'll take it into the shop on Friday when we head out grocery shopping. Perhaps it is something that they can fix in a couple of hours.

I've got choir practice tonight at 8:00p. Paul is surely keeping us busy as the performance draws closer. It will come together it it just a matter of everyone putting their best voice forward.

Thoughts for the Day:
  • "America derives its laws from its Constitution. It derives its values from the Bible. We don't get inalienable rights from the Constitution; we get them from God." - Dennis Prager
  • Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear. - Ambrose Redmoon
Qu'ran vs. the Bible

"Keith Ellison, D-Minn., the first Muslim elected to the United States Congress, has announced that he will not take his oath of office on the Bible, but on the bible of Islam, the Koran. He should not be allowed to do so, not because of any American hostility to the Koran, but because the act undermines American civilization. First, it is an act of hubris that perfectly exemplifies multiculturalist activism, my culture trumps America's culture. What Ellison and his Muslim and leftist supporters are saying is that it is of no consequence what America holds as its holiest book; all that matters is what any individual holds to be his holiest book. Forgive me, but America should not give a hoot what Keith Ellison's favorite book is. Insofar as a member of Congress taking an oath to serve America and uphold its values is concerned, America is interested in only one book, the Bible. If you are incapable of taking an oath on that book, don't serve in Congress. In your personal life, we will fight for your right to prefer any other book. We will even fight for your right to publish cartoons mocking our Bible. But, Mr. Ellison, America, not you, decides on what book its public servants take their oath." - Dennis Prager [entire editorial]

I would like to add here that the Qu'ran also condones and praises those who seek to destroy our very way of life. Quoting from the Qu'ran(9:5) Fight and slay the pagans wherever you find them, and seize them, beleager them, and lie in wait for them in every strategem." and; (9:29) "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden, which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Prophet, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) the People of the Book, until they pay the jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." The Bible is what our country was founded upon and all who wish to serve should be held to the stand of upholding what our founders have laid out or just forgo serving in such a position of authority. Islamic law has no place in the legislation of our county. - JPS
