Wednesday

The week is hustling by at a steady pace. Today is going to be filled with learning web video creating. I have about 12 lessons in all to review and absorb. Lots and lots to learn and absorb.

Mini crisis today - new operatoring system, three new programs and a couple of really weird issues with the computer. One is sort of sorted out; the second is not logical and the third is going to be a test. Who knew!!

Computer literate I am, but there are so many different and new software pieces to learn, I thought there for a bit I was going to go into meltdown phase. The crisis has passed and I just am going to have to focus on one piece of the puzzle at once, rather than trying to do the whole picture at once.

My biggest problem was trying to work on three different versions of Windows 98, XP & Vista all at once. I was having trouble getting Vista to recognize my jump drive and hooking up the camcorder also. Success Finally!! Satisfaction at accomplishing at least a couple of goals on my list for the day.

This evening after work Ms. Max and I have a 'perm date', instead of our usual early morning get together. I hope that it all works out well. The perm turned out terrific. Lots and lots of nice curls.

Sean's missing phone has finally been replaced. Now we can get back in touch with him from the cell phones as necessary. He's happy and has been cheerfully been informing his 'cell phone buddys' about his acquisition.

Thoughts for the Day:
  • "Finish each day and be done with it . . . You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it well and serenely." --Ralph Waldo Emerson
  • "Forewarned, forearmed; to be prepared is half the victory. Wisdom comes of such a recognition.” —Miguel de Cervantes
  • “Conservatism is a grasp and understanding of the value of every human being and the fact that when they earn money, they should be able to keep as much of it as possible so they can gain independence. That’s Reagan conservatism.” —former Virginia Gov. James Gilmore
Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.

One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.

The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?"

He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it."

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire , remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you. Pass this on right now. This very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them. And, whatever they're going through, they'll be a better person in the end.

"Life is a coin. You can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once."
