Harddrive Trouble

The hard drive on my laptop suffered a "stroke" this afternoon. Complete failure to communicate. Poor thing. I don't know if it will ever be able to recover.

Dean Scooting Along

This morning Sean comes running into the house asking for a camera. Much to my surprize...Dean was out riding around on the Pocket Rocket. Of course, this was too much of a good opportunity for great "blackmail" shots, out I ran with the camera. Here are a couple of shots for posterity.

Friendly Dragonfly

This dragonfly, an Eastern Pondhawk (Erythemis simplicicollis)-male, took up with me, after an afternoon of me trying to chase him around to get a picture, he just landed on the top of my foot. I was able to get several shots at this convenient angle but....who would have thought!

Dragonfly on Alert

This dragonfly, an Eastern Pondhawk (Erythemis simplicicollis) male, hung around the area that we were on the beach area. He finally set down just in front of me and stayed there for a brief period of time. I was able to get the head on view of him, he looked like a bomber getting ready to take off.

Bear Creek Lake Outing

The family headed out to Bear Creek Lake this afternoon for some fun and sun. The boys enjoyed an afternoon of swimming, as did Dean & I. I later spent some time chasing butterflies and dragonflies. I was able to get a number of great shots.

This fellow showed up on our front porch this afternoon. He was beginning to get a bit defensive about his position.

Off They Go

Ben and Danielle have headed off on their honeymoon. They are going to Williamsburg for five days. They tell me that they are taking a Colonial dance class sometime on Saturday evening. I bet they will have fun.

Summer Academy

Yellow Jacket Alert

Walter came in this afternoon from work with several yellow jacket stings. They were doing their usual work when he put the marking pole down into a yellow jacket's nest. I can only imagine the running that followed. He was in a bit of torment from the itching. Hopefully it will get better over the next few days.
