We stopped in Hillsville to visit with Wanda and almost got stuck in a huge traffic backup. We were able to find an alternate route around the mess. Along the way there was a herd of Shetland Ponies, really cool to see. We hit Kingsport at dinner time and had dinner at the Golden Coral with Teresa.We finally made it to the motel around 8:30 p.m. after a stop off in Woodway for Mamaw to visit with an old friend.
Once all checked in I headed out to for coffee and to get ice. Coffee all secured from the McDonald's in front of the motel, I stopped at the ice machine to fill up the ice bucket. It was a good thing that I'd paid cash for the coffee...the ice machine was coin operated!! Now I've done a bit of traveling and so has Mom, and I've never run across a coin operated ice machine. Really strange.
