My Mother's Day

Although the day has been cool and rainy, I have had a pleasant day, although rainy day. Walter took me out for a Mother's Day lunch to Texas de Brazil. Yum. I thought there for a little while that he was going to slip off in to a meat induced coma. When I left him a little while ago I do believe he was headed to take a nap.

I snapped this little guy sitting on the Walter's deck - he has that look of "What?" Which pretty much sums up the way the afternoon has been going.

I've been spending the afternoon curled up on the sofa, reading. Since I haven't taken the time to go out and get a new television yet. It has been the perfect weather for it.

Thought For the Day: "Freedom, like soap, can lose its strength if watered down. It is a package deal - with it come responsibilities and consequences. Freedom is not the right to do as you please, but the liberty to do as you ought!"

No Enemies

All women should live so long as to be this kind of old lady!

Toward the end of Sunday service, the Minister asked, 'How many of you have forgiven your enemies?'

80% held up their hands.

The Minister then repeated his question.

All responded this time, except one small elderly lady.

'Mrs. Neely?'; 'Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?'

I don't have any.' She replied, smiling sweetly.

'Mrs. Neely, that is very unusual. How old are you?'

'Ninety-eight.' she replied.

'Oh, Mrs. Neely, would you please come down in front & tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years & not have an enemy in the world?'

The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle, faced the congregation, and said:

'I outlived the bitches.'
