Election Day

Election Day has arrived once again. Let's all get out there and show our support for the candidate of your choice. Let's all exercise our right to vote.

By the time I got up to the polls to vote this afternoon I was number 398, when I peeked at the registrar's book, Dean had made it in on the way to work and had been number 52. Way cool.

This afternoon I took a photo of the t-shirt that I got as a souvenir from my trip to Warm Springs. It nicely shows off the check-in/gift shop, gazebo that covers the source of the spring and the women's pool. I have a post card from there also which is quite similar, but the shirt just shows off the painting on which it is based much better.

I could have taken a photo, but there was no foliage on the trees and it was pretty bland as it was late fall. Plus I didn't have to mess with trying to take pictures around various vehicles in the parking lot. Which is a big benefit.

Walter has come over to visit with us/take a nap before he heads off to school this evening. They closed up shop around 2:00 due to the weather.

Sean has been spending the day off school playing WOW. While the 'girls' have been rampaging all around, playing with one another. They have done some tricky maneuvers.

Dean came home with some fantastic news! He received a promotion! an actual bona fide promotion, new title and everything. He is now a CIMCO Specialist. In the letter of recommendation his supervisor said some very complementary things about his performance and expert abilities. We are all so proud of him. Yippee!! Way to Go Dean.

Prayer Request: Please remember Sandi as she has surgery tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.

Thought For the Day: In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the anti-American sentiment and negativity we should remember England's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview when asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America, he said:

A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in... And how many want out. Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
  1. Jesus Christ
  2. The American G. I.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS SO MANY SEEM TO HAVE FORGOTTEN BOTH OF THEM.

A PhotoShop tip from Mom: In his book The Digital Photography Book by Scott Kelby, he recommends a website with lots of tips, even legal ones. It's www.photosecrets.com He recommends this especially if you are planning on traveling. I think it will help with just those everyday shots. Makes you see things in a different way.
