Saturday

The weather has taken a welcomed change - the humidity has been banished at least for the moment and it is a glorious day. The breeze is blowing just right and makes me want to run outside and play. In fact, I put Tweat on the porch and Carla is there too. While they are "out-of-the-house" I'm going to run a mop over the floors that I've been putting off doing due to all the humidity. The floor came out great.

When I went out and watered the transplanted bushes, Walter showed up to visit for a spell. We all had a really nice visit over lunch then ther was the "project of Walter signed up for Fall classes. He was shooting for Surveying 101 but it was full so he decided to take United States History I and Precalculus I. His classes start the 21st.

Sean and Walter cut down a tree in the backyard today. It was a sight to see. Lots of chopping, pulling and running were involved.

Walt was even so sweet as to take everyone out to the Panda Inn for dinner. It was a great meal with plenty of conversation. Everyone seemed to greatly enjoy it. Four words of wisdom from our fortune cookies:
  1. Believe it can be done.
  2. Anyone can memorize things, but the important thing is to understand it.
  3. Behavior is a mirror in which everyone shows his own image.
  4. A kind word warms for three winters.
I helped gather up the branches and leaves, which we bagged in four huge bags which we dubbed as the "four fat children" - Oak, Branch, Leaf, and Bark. Walter crammed the "fat children" into his car to take them to the dumpster. That was a very sweet thing of him to do it got them out of the yard before trash day.
