Enjoy the Day

We had some rain during the night. It doesn't appear that it was a substantial amount, but every little bit helps. At least with the ground already softened by Ernesto it absorbs into the ground instead of just running off. I'm hopeful that it will help several of my plants that are looking poorly from lack of rain.

This morning Alice & Terry are coming over for a short visit. Terry is in need of a back-to-school haircut. He is in a good humor this morning so things should go well. The hair cut is over with and instead of a shaggy dog head, he has his little man haircut all set for school. He did so well. I believe that he is getting better each time that we give him a haircut. He doesn't seem as anxious over the whole ordeal as he has in the past. Way to go Terry!!

* Sorrowful News *

Steve Irwin 44, was killed almost instantly when a stingray stabbed him in the heart with its poisonous 20cm barb as he snorkelled off Port Douglas, in north Queensland. He was shooting a documentary on dangerous marine life, in shallow water at Bat Reef, about 32 nautical-miles offshore, at about 11am. [From article filed by By Ian Gerard and Tony Koch].

We have all enjoyed the antics of the Croc Hunter over the years and Danielle especially enjoyed watching him. We will all miss his adventures and his dedication to what he loved to do.

We went out this afternoon and had a delightful lunch at Applebee's with LG. Here cooking was just as wonderful today as always. Sean ate with quite a bit of gusto. He ate a whole side of baby back ribs. I kept remember the old commercial, "I can't believe I ate the whole thing."

I really am sad by this. I saw it on the news earlier. I about cried. I cannot believe that that happened to him. - Danielle
