Busy Thursday

This morning Sean & I are heading out to the Clover Hill Library for a couple of hours, for him to do some work for school. I think that I'll look around to see if anything there strikes my fancy to read or bring home to read. Sometimes I do gather a large collection when I get out to the library. I did it again five new books to read:
  1. Starting Over, by Robin Pilcher
  2. The Great Tales of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
  3. The Discomfort Zone, by Jonathan Franzen (The cover looked interesting)
  4. French Women for All Seasons A Year of Secrets, Recipes & Pleasure, by Mireile Guiliano
  5. The Shell Seekers, by Rosamunde Pilcher
While waiting on Sean I ran by to pick up Walter from his place so that I wouldn't have to make that trek later closer to rush hour. He also tells me that his exam is closer to 3 p.m. than the normal class time of 5:30 p. While I had him with me we ran into WalMart to get me a red shirt/sweater for our choir performance and him a couple of pair of jeans as a gift from Sean for Christmas. He also purchased a nice pair of navy khaki pants for Church and his upcoming court date.

The proposed after testing shopping has been put off since Sean tells me he has a friend coming over. So I guess for right now it doesn't seem like he will be interested at all in doing any shopping.

Dean called with Great News this afternoon, he has accepted a position in the IT department as a MEI Automation Specialist (MEI=Machine Equipment Intergration) His official start date for the position is 12/30/2006. He even has to help interview for someone to take his current position. BUT...he doesn't get to move his desk to the new department until the 15th of January. I suppose that is so that he will be handy to help the new CimCo transition into Dean's old job.

Walter & Dean have both been out for their final, final exams this evening. I hope that they both do well. Dean tells me that he had to in addition to turning in a final paper, he had to give a presentation to go with it once he turned it in. This teacher was a really doozie for the semester. I sure hope that he doesn't have her for any further classes.

My afternoon/evening has been a criss-crossing of my own path. It started out by taking Walter to class for exams, no problem until I find out that Sean is locked out of the house; back to the house to let him inside; back to pick up Walter to deliver him back to his apartment; then the trip home with a "quick" [hahahahahahaha!] stop at Hardees to pick up some chicken for dinner. I could have driven back to Walter's house twice during the time I sat in the car waiting for them to get the chicken together. I might even could have taken a nap. Finally home to feed Sean; take the girls out and give them their dinner. Boy am I tired!!

Irish SnowmanChristmas CardThis fellow is new to our tree this year, he arrived from a visit to the Highland Games & Celtic Festival.

I just love his plaids, which he appears to be wearing under his snow. The birdhouse is a very nice touch also. I think that he ranks as one of my favorite ornaments.

E-mail & Newsletter Gleanings:

I received this really cute Christmas card from Miss Debbie and thought that I'd share it.

I thought it was a really cute animation of Santa falling down the chimney with all the gifts. The snow is a really added treat, it gives it quite a bit of character.
