Decorating Day

With all the decorations sitting in the living room - it is my goal this today to get the wreaths in the windows and to get the tree put up in the living room. Wheather or not I get the ornaments on really doesn't matter. Just getting the tree up and letting the animals become reaquainted with it will be a big deal. I may just even get in the mood to wrap a few things.

So far decorating is ahead of schedule. The tree is up, but the electronics specialist is going to need to check a couple of fuses that may have given up since last year. But other than that things seem to be moving along quite well. The stockings are hung, by the fireplace with care awaiting the big night. Now if the girls don't mess with all the wiring and decorations it will be fantastic.

Alice called with a funny story this morning. It seems that while she was giving Terry a shower this morning, when he leaned against the side of the shower and went to sleep standing up. It was one of the funniest things that I have heard. She said that they have also seen him do it while sitting in the tub but this was his first time sleeping, standing in the shower. Prior to that he was nodding off in the middle of eating - with a big bite of food in his mouth. It is hilarious, yet dangerous, but since they were right there with him it did make the conditions more acceptable.

We're going to take a brief break from all the household doings and head off to the park for a little while. We're going to take the dogs with us so that they can have a good run/walk. Perhaps Miss Lilly will get tuckered out; I know Carla will. First we are making a stop at PetSmart to pick up two retractable leashes so that they will have the ability to walk somewhat further away without the leash pulling them back. I know that will be helpful for me. I'm going to shoot to have Carla's nails clipped while we are there and possibly get a new chew toy for Lilly (she has "killed" a couple).

The girls got their leashes, Carla her nails done, and Lilly her toy. The walk in the park went well. They really had a great time smelling everything that could be smelled along the walk ways. We walked down by the pond and saw four or five ducks on the pond and one female blue Cardinal flitting in the trees at the ponds edge.

On the way home Sean started coming down with a migraine. It dawned upon us that the weather is beginning to turn towards cooler and wetter weather. The boys are both asleep on the sofas and Lilly is asleep on the sofa with Sean. Carla is still milling about with me, she's not nearly as bushed as the others. I do believe that she enjoyed her walk and time out. She laid out in the sunshine on the porch for about an hour and has come in to sleep on the sofa. It's moving towards evening and she's getting all settled. Lilly has been up once to go potty, but is back on the sofa sleeping with Sean.

That wicked looking bug that was hanging out beside the door yesterday is still there today. I even poked at it to see if was living. It is, it didn't move much but enough to let me know that it was alive and kicking.

Tweat has really given us a treat today. She has been singing or 'talking' to us most of the day. I believe that she has started all this conversation, because I moved her cage into an area that receives more sunlight. She's not in the shade nearly as much as before. She's even walking over to the opposite end of her perch to "look over my shoulder" as I type on the computer.

I had a nice surprise this evening - Alice told me about a software update that needed to be done on our phones, so I hopped out to VerizonWireless and checked to see if our phones needed the update. They do - I had mine updated. The guys are going to get theirs done tomorrow. While they were doing the software update I dropped by and visited with Alice & Troy. Of course the topic of discussion was phone software updates.

On my way home I rung up the house and and found out that Walter was there to visit. So I had a double surprise for the evening. We had a nice visit while I was cooking dinner.
